The Podcast
Does the Life You Built Not Feel Like Yours?
You built the career. You hit the milestones. You became the man you were supposed to become. So why does it feel like something's missing?
The Unbecome Podcast is for high-achieving men who have done everything right on the outside — and quietly feel that something no longer fits on the inside. It is a podcast about rewriting the script. By stepping back, questioning the inherited ideas that shaped you, and consciously rebuilding from the inside out.
The Unbecome Podcast
THE CORE IDEA
For generations, men have been handed a narrow definition of success: Perform. Provide. Achieve. Suppress. Keep Going. Many have followed that script faithfully — built careers, carried responsibility, become capable and reliable men.
But the cost is often hidden. It shows up as restlessness. Disconnection. A sense of hollowness behind the achievement. A life that looks right from the outside but feels strangely off within.
The problem is design. Most men never consciously choose their values — they inherit them, then optimise their entire lives around them. The Unbecome Method is about inspecting that foundation. Taking what is true. Discarding what is not. Rebuilding deliberately, on your own terms.
That is intelligent rebellion.
WHAT THE PODCAST EXPLORES
Five connected territories run through every episode: Ambient Burnout and the hidden crisis of high-achieving men. The Unbecome Method and the internal cognitive operating system behind ambition, identity and self-worth. Redefining Masculinity: a deeper conversation about the inherited script, beyond culture wars or nostalgia. Embodied Leadership, driven not by image or insecurity but by alignment and integrity. Purpose and Cultural Rebellion: the refusal to inherit definitions of success that no longer serve you.
This is not self-help gloss. It is not motivation. It is the essential work of building true male identity for YOU.
WHO IT'S FOR
The podcast centres on high-achieving men in midlife — but the conversation speaks across the full arc:
In your thirties or early forties — old enough to have built something real, young enough to feel the first quiet suspicion that success alone may not deliver what it promised.
In midlife — where the identity that got you here has started to feel like a suit you've outgrown, and you know, somewhere, that another goal or productivity system isn't going to fix it.
In your late fifties or early sixties — where the structure that defined you is starting to fall away, and the question underneath it — who am I without all of this? — is getting harder to ignore.
Or retired, or nearly there, facing something nobody prepared you for: the freedom you worked thirty years toward, and the strange loss that arrived with it.
The details are different. The work is the same.
THE FORMAT
Episodes run 35 to 50 minutes, combining solo reflections with guest conversations: leaders, psychologists, authors, researchers and men with real transformation stories. The first six episodes introduce the foundation, beginning with Ambient Burnout: Naming the Crisis and building through Masculinity, Identity, Purpose and the question of who you are when the career stops.
If you are done performing and ready to live on your own terms, you are in the right place.
